Came stock with no power anything,S10 was junked out at the local junk yard.
The stock engine was in the bed.

10 KW. [1KW = 1.38 HP]
rated about 13.5 HP at 1000 rpm stock at 36 volts.
now running 72 volts and will go to 120 volts soon.
torque falls flat at about 1350 rpm at 72 volts.
that will change at 120 volts.
Drivetrainno clutch.
stock 4 speed tranny.
stock 3.07 rear gear.
1 extra leaf in the rear springs.
ControllerCurtis 1209B
Will soon go to a HOMEBREW controller soon.
CURTIS controller has too much RAMP built into it for traffic.
[even adjusted to max.]
impossible to draw more than 75 locked rotor amps from a standing start.
amp draw will not increase until about 400 rpm is reached
at that point you can draw 400 amps for a about 1 second.
you might get run over by then.

1/2% downgrade will allow 55 to 60 with low amp draw.
55 mph all the way to work highway, with a very slight downhill grade all the way.
40 to 45 on the home.
with a 1/2 mile, 8% grade from hell on the very last leg of the trip home. [15 mph]

WAS using 2/0 welding cable,,,, now using 1/4 x 1 3/8 copper buss bars for interconnection on batteries now.
that dropped battery connection temperatures drastically.
2/0 WELDING CABLE is not big enough at 72 volts for an EV.
Temperature rise at battery connections is too great while pulling steep grades for periods of more than 30 seconds because of heavy amp draw.
