I learned a lot from my first e-bike, so I used what I learned in the second generation e-bike. The result was a better-looking, better performing electric vehicle. I mounted the battery boxes on a pair of aluminium plates that I fabricated to fit in the rear carrier. Then, I installed the batteries. Being that the boxes were about twice the size of the batteries, there was a bit of space that I had to fill in with styrofoam to keep the batteries from sliding around. I also put a rubber pad on the back and the bottom of the box and a rubber bumper on the front to "sandwich" the battery in the box snugly. The controller box was a bit more difficult as there was much less room in the 8" box, and the controller is stuffed inside, with an exterior charging port and on/off switch. That way, it's really simple for anyone to ride and maintain. The boxes never need to be opened, unless a battery goes dead, or the controller fries, and I really don't see that happening, because everything is built right.

I have only just begun riding this e-bike, and have been offered money for it. With the price of petrol rising again, it's time to find a buyer for this one. The buyer is going to get a great commuter EV, and one that will be easy to maintain because everything is brand new, including the bike itself. The department store still had their sale on, so I bought a couple of these handy diamond-framed bikes because they are the perfect rigid platform to build EV's from. Strong and light.
